The Battle of Waterloo was the final battle of the Napoleonic Wars. On June 18th, 1815, the forcesĀ of the British Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley held out against several waves of Napoleon’s attacks until theĀ Prussian General Gebhard Leberecht von Blucher arrived and attacked Napoleon’s right flank, sending the French army into chaos. Napoleon was captured, Louis the XVIII became the King of France, and peace was once again returned to Europe.
